Northgate State School is supported by an enrolment management plan which was endorsed in June 2017. This plan supports the school to maintain enrolments and manage the built capacity of the school.

Catchment Area & eligibility
The enrolment catchment map defines the local area that the school serves. The catchment area map is located at: Queensland Government ED Map.
Your child may be eligible to enrol at Northgate State School if they:
- Live within the school catchment area, or
- Have a sibling currently attending the school
Out-of-catchment applications are considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability.

Step 1: Complete an Enrolment Application
All families are required to complete an application for student enrolment form.

Step 2: Provide Supporting Documentation
All enrolment applications must be accompanied by the required supporting documents.
Proof of Child's Age and Identity
One of the following documents must be provided:
- Birth certificate (preferred)
- Passport
- Other documentation approved by the Principal
If applicable, families must also provide:
- Parent and child visas
- Authority to Enrol from Education Queensland International (EQI)
Proof of Residency (In-Catchment Enrolments)
Families applying for in-catchment enrolment must provide:
- Home owners: Current rates notice or unconditional contract of sale
- Renters: Current lease agreement and a current gas or electricity bill
Additional Documentation
Where relevant, families should also provide:
- Parenting or court orders relating to custody or access
- Medical or learning reports
Step 3: Enrolment Interview
Families may be invited to attend an enrolment interview with a member of the Leadership team.
When invited to attend an appointment please bring:
- Your child/ren
- The documents outlined above for your child/ren's proof of age and identity and proof of residency
- If applicable, the documents outlined above for immigration and visa, parenting or court orders, medical or learning reports.
Step 4: Prepare for School
Once enrolment is confirmed, families are encouraged to prepare for the school year by:
- Arranging uniforms (email uniformorders@northgatess.asn.au for assistance)
- Viewing and purchasing current book list items (available under documents on our website)
- Reviewing school agreements and policies, ensuring signed copies of the documents in your enrolment pack are returned to the school.

Out-of-Catchment Enrolments
Northgate State School accepts a limited number of out-of-catchment enrolments in line with the Enrolment Management Plan.
- Applications may be placed on a waiting list
- Places are offered as vacancies become available
- Families are encouraged to also apply to their local state school
